3. Operation

Use a suitably rated mains plug and lead for AC input power.
Ensure a proper connection to mains earth. Ensure the AC input power is off before working on the unit.
Connect the battery to the leads provided; (Red=positive, black=negative)
Press the Start/Reset button next
to the contacts, to connect power from the battery
If the unit does not maintain power, the battery voltage could be too low.Replace the battery with a known good battery and re-test.Close up the unit and switch on the mains supply.
The unit will supply a constant voltage to the
output contacts as specified.In the event of a short circuit to the output, theunit will reduce the voltage until the fault
is corrected, and immediately reset the voltage thereafter.

 

The same applies when exceeding the current specification.
The battery is monitored for low voltage
If the mains fails and the battery falls below
10.8V, the unit will automatically disconnect the battery.
When the mains power is restored, the battery 
will automatically be reconnected.
To test the unit after installation, simply 
switch off the mains supply and observe that 
there is still voltage supplied to the load.
Restore the mains supply for normal operation.
